Phuket Town Restaurant

We checked in around 1 and needed a quick lunch before putting Charlie down for her afternoon sleep. Not wanting to go on a mission we walked out of the hotel and headed down the road. After about 50 meters we saw a nice looking place called Phuket Town Restaurant (or something like that). We weren't put off by our less that great food experience in Phuket as I knew that the south of Thailand had far more to offer food wise that what we had experienced. We weren't disappointed and such was the quality of the menu we had a hard time choosing. We settled on Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Cumin served with Black and White Sticky Rice, Stir-Fried Pork with Phuket Pineapple, Stir-Fried Pak Miang (Southern Green Leafed Vegetable) with Egg toped with Fried Shallots and Dried Shrimp and Crab Meat Fried Rice. All meals were sensational! The chunks of crab meat were delicious, the Pak Miang was amazing, and Pork with Pineapple was wonderful. The sticky rice was also a highlight in an order where all meals were highlights! This meal was so much better that anything we had eaten in Phuket and it seems ridiculous that we just found it by walking into the first place we came to, only 50 meters from our hotel! You have to love Bangkok. From memory the whole lot was around 500 Baht ($15). Crazy!!! Did I say we are happy to be back in Bangkok. Just as exciting is the many other dishes on the menu we are now dying to try! We have firmly marked this as our go to place for those days when we return to the hotel starving after a big days shopping.

While Charlie was sleeping Tina and I took turns visiting the supermarket to get supplies as the apartments don't provide breakfast. I managed to find the ingredients for Thai milk ice tea and am looking forward to trying to make it for myself for breakfast tomorrow.
